Concerns over human rights in China are something which simmer away in the background and frequently spill their way over into the mainstream press. Amnesty International does a great deal of work in the country and cites on its website that there are currently some 500,000 individuals currently incarcerated without a trial. Recently, the issues have boiled right over and spurred the US into taking action. The Whitehouse has requested that the “deteriorating” human rights of the country must be addressed by the Chinese government. (more…)
